On December 8th, 2011, Vestavia Hills hosted a Press Event regarding the successful conversion of 14 Vestavia Hills Police vehicles to run on bi-fuel propane-gasoline.
The event, facilitated by the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition was held at the site of the refueling dispenser and tanks at Vestavia's Public Works Department.
Mark Bentley (ACFC) facilitated the event. Vestavia Hills Mayor Zaragoza, Police Chief Rary and Mark Denton (Blossman) each spoke about the benefits of propane Autogas as a transportation fuel.
The event received wide coverage on all 4 TV networks serving the area and in the Birmingham print media.
